Online Correction of Name/Date of Birth/Gender in Provident Fund Record

Dear All

 

We would like to bring your attention to Circular number NDC/2017/UAN/Pt./2741 dated 21st November 2017 (as attached) wherein EPFO has provided an Online facility for correction in the Member record w.r.t Name/Date of Birth and Gender as per Aadhar records. Earlier for all these correction employee and employer has to fill up Joint declaration manually

 

As per the new procedure a Member has to follow the following steps

 

  1. Login into Member UAN Portal through his UAN and Password (https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/)
  2. Click on Manage>Modify Basis Details
  3. Provide all three details as being provided in Aadhar Card w.r.t Name/Date of Birth and Gender and the select employer from drop down you wish to approve the details
  4. Click Update details
  5. Request will be submitted to the employer for approvals
  6. Once approved by the employer than same shall be approved by Office of EPFO

 

Please note that System will verify the details entered with UIDAI-Aadhar Data so please ensure that correct information as per Aadhar Card is being feeded in the system

UMANG Mobile App for Employee by Gov. of India

Hi All Employee,

 

We would like to bring to your kind attention that Mobile Application UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance)  has been launched by Government of India.

 

It is developed by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD) to drive Mobile Governance in India

UMANG provides a single platform for all Indian Citizens to access pan India e-Gov services ranging from Central to Local Government bodies and other citizen centric services.

 

UMANG provides seamless integration with popular customer centric services like Aadhaar and Digilocker.

UMANG intends to provide major services offered by Central and State Government departments, Local bodies and other utility services from private organizations. It provides a unified approach where citizens can install one application to avail multiple government services.

UMANG service has been made available on multiple channels like mobile application, web, IVR and SMS which can be accessed through smartphones, feature phones, tablets and desktops. UMANG  has been created with a thought to add convenience to your lifestyle. UMANG will revolutionize the way how an Indian citizen avails government services today, because it leverages the current accelerated internet and smartphone penetration in our country.

 

UMANG app is available for download on Google Play (Andriod), App Store (IOS), Window Store (Windows)

 

EPFO mobile application, service offered Employees Provident Fund Organization is also available in UMANG.

 

Presently Employee can avail the following services through app available in UMANG. More and more services will be added to the application

 

Precondition to avail this facility is registration of UAN at EPFO Portal and linking of Mobile number to UAN to get the OTP

 

  1. View Passbook.
  2. Raise Claim for withdrawal of Pension, PF Settlement, PF part (Loan) withdrawal. (Facility can be availed subject to KYC is complete for employee which is linking of Aadhar, PAN and updated Bank details. Certain other conditions, as being stipulated while employee start doing a transaction, subject to nature of transaction being initiated.
  3. Track Claim filed through UMANG App

Merging statutory compliance in one register

In order to ease with the requirement of maintaining registers under different Acts Central Govt has introduced a new Rule with the name of “Ease of Compliance to Maintain Registers under various Labour Laws Rules, 2017”. The objective behind doing this is to cut short the maintenance of different register and merging them into a consolidated register under “Ease of Compliance to Maintain Registers under various Labour Laws Rules, 2017” . The combined register would also facilitate the Inspection and the maintenance of the same electronically with less effort.

 

The registers under the below mentioned Acts are taken into consideration to substitute the same with a new registers under this rule:-

 

(i) Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996 (27 of 1996);

(ii) Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 (37 of 1970);

(iii) Equal Remuneration Act, 1976 (25 of 1976);

(iv) Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979 (30 of 1979);

(v) Mines Act, 1952 (35 of 1952)

(vi) Minimum Wages Act, 1948 (11 of 1948);

(vii) Payment of Wages Act, 1936 (4 of 1936);

(viii) Sales Promotion Employees (Conditions of Service) Act, 1976 (11 of 1976); and

(ix) Working Journalists and Other Newspaper Employees (Conditions of Service) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1955 (45 of 1955);

ESIC hikes wage ceiling to Rs 21000

The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) today raised the monthly wage threshold to Rs 21,000, from the current Rs 15,000, for coverage under its health insurance scheme.

 

the ESIC board also decided to give an option to existing insured persons to continue membership even if their wage breaches the ceiling of Rs 21,000 per month.

 

At present, all those insured under the ESIC scheme lose their membership of ESIC as well as that of the insurance cover if their wage overshoots the ceiling.

 

Decisions will be implemented from October 1.

Furnishing of evidence of claims by employee in Form 12BB

Employees have to Furnish  Evidence of Claims in Form 12BB for Salary TDS

 

CBDT vide its Notification No. 30/2016-Income Tax dated 29-04-2016 has inserted new income tax rule 26C which requires every employee to furnish evidences of claims/deductions for salary TDS purpose in FORM 12BB. Following are the evidences prescribed for claims/deductions:
